Tooth gaps
Unfortunately, even in modern dentistry tooth loss cannot be ruled out completely. Some patients lose their teeth through an accident, some teeth simply fail to develop. However, tooth gaps may lead to extensive changes of the entire periodontium. As a result of inadequate support, the opposite teeth may grow longer or the adjacent teeth may tilt into the gap. In these spaces, food particles remain stuck and bacteria multiply. All this often leads to cavities and periodontal disease.
